AUSTIN SHADEWORKS WARRANTY
Austin ShadeWorks is committed to providing quality window treatment products and professional installation. Products supplied by Austin ShadeWorks are backed by the applicable manufacturer’s product warranty, and installation work performed by Austin ShadeWorks is backed by our one-year installation workmanship warranty, subject to the terms below.
MANUFACTURER PRODUCT WARRANTY
Products supplied by Austin ShadeWorks are covered by the warranty provided by the applicable manufacturer. Warranty periods, coverage, remedies, limitations, and exclusions vary by manufacturer and product.
If a product supplied by Austin ShadeWorks experiences a suspected defect during the applicable manufacturer warranty period, Austin ShadeWorks will assist the original purchaser with evaluating the issue and, when appropriate, coordinating a warranty claim with the manufacturer.
All product warranty claims are subject to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms and determination. Austin ShadeWorks cannot guarantee approval of a manufacturer warranty claim or a particular remedy.
A manufacturer’s warranty may cover repair or replacement of a defective product or component without covering associated costs such as diagnosis, service labor, removal, reinstallation, programming, travel, freight, or shipping. Any costs not covered by the manufacturer will be the responsibility of the customer.
INSTALLATION WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
Austin ShadeWorks warrants installation workmanship performed by our installers for one (1) year from the date of installation and will make coverage determinations under this warranty in good faith and based on a reasonable assessment of the reported condition.
If an installation-related issue is discovered during the warranty period, the customer should notify Austin ShadeWorks promptly and provide a description of the issue. Austin ShadeWorks will evaluate the reported condition and determine whether it resulted from our installation workmanship.
If Austin ShadeWorks determines that an issue is the result of our installation workmanship, we will correct the installation-related issue at no charge to the customer.
This warranty applies specifically to installation workmanship performed by Austin ShadeWorks. It does not extend, replace, or modify the applicable manufacturer’s product warranty.
PROPERTY DAMAGE & IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION CONCERNS
Customers are encouraged to inspect the completed work and surrounding area promptly following installation.
Any visible damage to the premises or surrounding property believed to have resulted from Austin ShadeWorks’ delivery or installation should be reported to Austin ShadeWorks within seven (7) days of completion of the work. Photographs or other documentation of the reported condition may be requested.
Delayed reporting may affect Austin ShadeWorks’ ability to determine whether the reported damage resulted from our work.
This reporting period applies to visible property damage and other conditions that would reasonably be apparent following installation. It does not shorten the one-year Installation Workmanship Warranty for installation-related issues that become apparent later.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Unless otherwise covered by an applicable manufacturer’s warranty, the Austin ShadeWorks warranty does not cover:
· Normal wear and tear or deterioration from age or use.
· Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper operation, or failure to follow product instructions.
· Damage or malfunction caused by unauthorized repair, adjustment, alteration, removal, or reinstallation by the customer or a third party.
· Damage caused by water, moisture, fire, severe weather, acts of nature, pests, corrosive materials, or other conditions outside Austin ShadeWorks’ control.
· Problems resulting from the building, windows, doors, trim, walls, mounting surfaces, electrical systems, wiring, or other existing site conditions.
· Changes or movement in the structure or mounting surface occurring after installation.
· Routine cleaning, maintenance, battery replacement, or adjustments resulting from normal use.
· Products or installation work not originally supplied or performed by Austin ShadeWorks.
· Damage to products resulting from construction, remodeling, painting, window replacement, cleaning, or other work performed after our installation.
MOTORIZATION & AUTOMATED SYSTEMS
Motors, controls, remotes, power supplies, sensors, gateways, and other motorization components are covered according to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
Austin ShadeWorks does not warrant customer-owned Wi-Fi networks, smart-home systems, third-party automation platforms, building wiring, electrical service, internet connectivity, or other third-party equipment or services.
Changes to third-party software, applications, networks, integrations, or equipment may affect the operation of a motorized window treatment without constituting a defect in the window treatment or Austin ShadeWorks’ installation.
Service required to diagnose or correct an issue ultimately determined to originate from a non-warranted electrical, network, third-party, or customer-owned system may be billable.
WARRANTY SERVICE, LABOR, & TRAVEL
Submission of a service request does not automatically establish warranty coverage. Austin ShadeWorks may need to inspect or troubleshoot the product to determine whether an issue relates to our installation workmanship, an applicable manufacturer’s warranty, or a non-warranted condition.
When a manufacturer provides a replacement product or component under warranty, labor, travel, removal, reinstallation, programming, shipping, freight, or other service costs are not automatically covered unless the manufacturer’s warranty specifically includes those costs or Austin ShadeWorks determines that they are covered by our Installation Workmanship Warranty.
If the reported condition is determined not to be covered by either the manufacturer’s warranty or the Austin ShadeWorks Installation Workmanship Warranty, the visit and any subsequent work may be subject to Austin ShadeWorks’ current service rates.
Any anticipated billable work will be communicated to the customer before additional billable service is performed.
REPLACEMENT PRODUCTS & MATERIALS
The remedy available for a product defect is determined by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty. A manufacturer may elect to repair or replace a product or component rather than replace the complete window treatment.
Austin ShadeWorks cannot guarantee an exact match when fabrics, colors, finishes, materials, components, hardware, or product lines have been changed or discontinued.
Replacement of one warranted product or component does not require replacement of unaffected products solely to achieve an exact visual match.
CHANGES, REMOVAL, & REINSTALLATION
The Austin ShadeWorks Installation Workmanship Warranty applies to the installation as originally completed. This warranty applies to the property where the installation was originally performed and is transferable from the original customer to any subsequent owner of that property for the remainder of the applicable warranty period established at the time of purchase and/or installation.
Removal, modification, relocation, adjustment, or reinstallation of a product by anyone other than Austin ShadeWorks may affect warranty coverage when that work contributes to the reported condition.
Removal and reinstallation required because of remodeling, painting, construction, window or door replacement, electrical work, or other changes to the property are not considered warranty work and may be subject to applicable service charges.
FILING A WARRANTY CLAIM
To request warranty service, contact Austin ShadeWorks and provide the customer or project name, location of the affected product, a description of the issue, and photographs or video showing the condition when available. Additional information may be requested as necessary to evaluate the claim.
Austin ShadeWorks will review the request and determine the appropriate next step, which may include remote troubleshooting, an on-site assessment, submission of a manufacturer warranty claim, ordering replacement parts or products, or scheduling service.
Warranty claims should be submitted promptly after an issue is discovered and within the applicable warranty period.
LIMITATIONS
Austin ShadeWorks’ Installation Workmanship Warranty is limited to correcting covered installation workmanship. Manufacturer product warranty remedies are limited to those provided by the applicable manufacturer.
No repair, modification, replacement, or other work performed by a third party will be reimbursed by Austin ShadeWorks unless authorized by Austin ShadeWorks in writing in advance.
The remedies described in this warranty, such as repair or correction of covered installation workmanship, or the applicable manufacturer's remedy for a covered product defect, are the customer's sole and exclusive remedies under this warranty. To the extent permitted by law, Austin ShadeWorks is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, property damage not caused by our installation workmanship, or the cost of alternative window coverings arising from a covered issue.
Except as expressly stated in this warranty, Austin ShadeWorks makes no other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent such disclaimer is permitted by applicable law.
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute arising from this warranty will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
Please retain this warranty with your project records.
Effective September 2026
This warranty supersedes any prior version and applies to installations completed on or after this date.
